At The Other Door Recovery Residences (TODRR), we believe recovery is more than sobriety — it’s about rebuilding lives with purpose, dignity, and connection.
This month marks an exciting milestone: TODRR has officially been approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. That means we can now move full speed ahead in building a new model of recovery housing for Lee County, Florida.
Our vision is simple yet powerful:
Safe, peer-led housing for men in early recovery.
Life-skills and vocational training to prepare residents for meaningful work.
Community connection through our Dirt-to-Table program, where residents grow fresh produce, strengthen food access, and contribute to local markets.
We know recovery housing has not always lived up to its promise. That’s why TODRR is setting a new standard — rooted in transparency, peer leadership, and measurable outcomes. Every dollar we raise, every program we launch, is designed to create lasting impact for individuals and for our community.
But we can’t do it alone. This is a call to action for our neighbors, partners, and supporters:
Investors can fuel the seed capital we need to open our first 25-bed residence.
Students and volunteers can bring energy, skills, and hands-on help as we build programs from the ground up.
Community members can spread the word, join our events, and help us grow a culture of connection and resilience.
At TODRR, recovery isn’t the end of the story — it’s the beginning of a flourishing life. Together, we can open new doors of opportunity for those who need them most.
