Residents & Families

Who is eligible to live at The Other Door? Men in early recovery who have completed a treatment or detox program and are ready to continue building structure, employment, and independence in a peer-led environment.

How long can residents stay? Most residents stay between 6–12 months, depending on their progress toward financial stability, sustained sobriety, and personal goals.

What does rent include? Rent covers housing, utilities, Wi-Fi, on-site peer support, life-skills programming, and participation in community initiatives like the “Dirt-to-Table” garden project.

Are there curfews or rules? Yes structure is part of recovery. Residents follow community guidelines, maintain cleanliness, attend house meetings, and commit to active recovery participation.

Can residents work or attend school? Absolutely. Residents are encouraged to work, volunteer, or enroll in classes. The program helps connect them with local employers and training opportunities.

Can family members visit? Yes with prior approval and within scheduled hours. We believe family connection is key to sustainable recovery.

For Referral Partners & Case Managers

How do I refer someone to TODRR? Email gford@todrr.org or use the referral form on the website. Include recent discharge summaries or assessments if available.

Does TODRR coordinate with treatment centers or probation officers? Yes with signed releases, we provide progress updates and collaborate on case plans.

What types of programming are available? Peer-led groups, workforce readiness, financial literacy, and community reintegration support. Residents also participate in the Tower Garden training and mobile market initiatives.

Is TODRR a registered nonprofit? Yes, The Other Door Recovery Residences, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible.

How can I make a donation? Through the website (credit/debit/PayPal), by mail, or through our Founders Circle sponsorship tiers.

Can businesses partner with TODRR? Absolutely. We collaborate with local employers, schools, and community organizations to provide work opportunities and mentorship.

How are donations used? Funds support scholarships for residents, property upkeep, and vocational program materials with all tracked transparently in our annual report.
