Residents & Families
Who is eligible to live at The Other Door? TODRR is being developed for adult men in recovery who are ready for structured housing, accountability, peer support, and practical community reintegration. The model is MAT-friendly and is intended for men transitioning from treatment or early recovery toward greater stability and independence.
How long can residents stay? TODRR is designed around an anticipated stay of approximately 6–12 months, depending on each resident’s progress, stability, employment, recovery goals, and readiness for greater independence. Final length-of-stay expectations will be established before admission once the first residence opens.
What do resident fees include? Resident fees are expected to cover housing and core household expenses, along with participation in TODRR’s structured recovery-living model. Final fees and included services will be provided before admission once the first residence is secured and operating.
Are there curfews or rules? Yes. TODRR is being designed as a structured recovery residence with clear house expectations, curfews, household responsibilities, accountability standards, and participation in recovery-focused routines. Final house rules will be reviewed with each resident before admission.
Can residents work or attend school? Yes. Employment, education, vocational training, and other productive goals are strongly encouraged. TODRR’s model is designed to help residents build sustainable routines, financial stability, and greater independence
Can family members visit? TODRR intends to support healthy family relationships while maintaining the safety, privacy, and recovery environment of the residence. Visitor policies and approved visiting times will be established before the first residence opens.
For Referral Partners & Case Managers
How do I refer someone to TODRR? Referral partners may contact TODRR at gford@todrr.com to discuss a prospective resident or submit a referral inquiry. Please include your name, organization, contact information, and a brief description of the individual's housing needs. Do not include confidential medical or treatment records in the initial email. TODRR is currently developing its first recovery residence and building its referral network and housing interest list. Residential placements are not yet available. We welcome early conversations with treatment providers, case managers, peer supporters, and community partners to help prepare for future admissions.
Does TODRR coordinate with treatment centers or probation officers? TODRR welcomes appropriate coordination with treatment providers, case managers, peer specialists, probation or reentry professionals, and other community partners when authorized by the individual. TODRR is recovery housing, not a clinical treatment provider, and is designed to complement outside care and recovery supports
What types of programming are available? Peer-led groups, workforce readiness, financial literacy, and community reintegration support. Residents also participate in the Tower Garden training and mobile market initiatives.

Is TODRR a registered nonprofit? Yes, The Other Door Recovery Residences, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible.
How can I make a donation? Through the website (credit/debit/PayPal), by mail, or through our Founders Circle sponsorship tiers.
Can businesses partner with TODRR? Absolutely. We collaborate with local employers, schools, and community organizations to provide work opportunities and mentorship.
How are donations used? Funds support scholarships for residents, property upkeep, and vocational program materials with all tracked transparently in our annual report.
